The vineyard on the Alexandra Allotments site was planted several decades ago, and has now been taken over by a keen group of plotholders, under the supervision of Andrew Evers.
In 2010 Denbies sponsored the vineyard, and has given advice on its management ever since.
In autumn 2010, the grapes were went to the Urban Wine Company, for processing the first Alexandra vintage.
In autumn 2011, the grapes were processed in Epsom by Andrew, and the new vintage was bottled on Saturday 28th April 2012.
The vineyard has featured in several gardening publications, and may feature in a new book to be published soon called “My Cool Allotment”.
